Unintended consequences of laptops and internet in classrooms?

I’ve just added two journal articles to my “to be read” pile. Both relate to the potential drawbacks and unintended consequences of today’s technologies in classrooms. Both come from the Computers & Education.

1. Non-academic internet use in the classroom is negatively related to classroom learning regardless of intellectual ability

2. Laptop multitasking hinders classroom learning for both users and nearby peers
