Data Use, Technology, and Educational Leadership
Last year, I was invited to help update Supervision: A Redefinition. Tom Sergiovanni and Jerry Starrat have had a long run with this textbook, and it’s a real honor. Something that distinguishes these authors is their emphasis on moral purpose and the “big picture” of education. A lot of teachers (and supervisors) get into education because school is supposed to be uplifting.
Does anyone have feedback or opinions about this book? That might include stuff you wished we’d nuke or stuff you wished we’d talk about. Some of the updates I’ll be doing will involve issues around data-based decision making as they relate to supervision. I’ll be sharing more specific ideas about this in the future, but if you have some now, I’d love to hear them!
